Jeremy shot Morning Haze in 2023, not long after getting a new motorcycle.
Like most people who surf and ride, it didn't take long before he added a rack and started thinking about where it could take him — the kind of spots you don't always get to as easily by car.
At the time, he was living in San Luis Obispo. Oceano was close by, and one of the few places left on the West Coast where you can still ride directly onto the sand.
He went out there with his buddy Jeff early one morning. The plan wasn't complicated — just ride, maybe find a quiet stretch, see what the conditions were doing.
What he was really hoping for was fog.
"My whole idea was to find a foggy day where no one else is out. Just you and the moto, stuck behind the goggles, in the helmet, vibing out to your own music."
Not heavy fog. Just enough to soften everything. The kind of morning where the light flattens out and the horizon starts to disappear a little.
Jeff rode ahead while Jeremy hung back with the camera.
At some point, he started playing with the motion — letting the image blur slightly as Jeff passed through the frame. He's always been drawn to that feeling in his work, where the image isn't completely fixed. Where there's still a sense of movement in it.
There wasn't much else going on. Just the sound of the bike, the ocean somewhere off to the side, and that quiet bliss you get when you're out early enough that no one else is around.

He described it as being in your own zone a bit — inside the helmet, moving, but an undeniable sense of stillness.
That's really what this image comes back to. Not a specific moment or event, but a feeling that's easy to recognize if you've had it — being out somewhere open, with no one else around, not trying to get anywhere in particular.
Just riding through it.
